0.9.13–0.9.17: Daily Mode, Fullscreen, and a Big UI Cleanup


Over the last couple of days (0.9.14 → 0.9.17), I’ve been on a big “make the UI feel finished” sprint.

0.9.14 kicked it off with proper fullscreen support (F11), including centering the game cleanly at any resolution and a quick on-screen “FULLSCREEN/WINDOWED” toast plus the web build uses the browser fullscreen API.

In 0.9.15, I did a full visual theme pass to unify the Title Menu, Daily Challenge UI, and Instructions into the same neon look (new monogram-extended.ttf, cyan titles, neon green frames). At the same time, I moved Main Menu + Daily Challenge text into proper localization keys (EN/DE/ZH/JA) instead of hardcoded English.

0.9.16–0.9.17 were mostly polish + usability: the Title menu now shows real key icons (SPACE + D/L/I/E) instead of “[D]” style text, and the menu layout is more compact. I also added mouse support across the Title menu, Shop, Recycling, and Daily Challenge, including actual clickable Confirm/Cancel buttons in the shop with hover states. 

To stop the cursor from stealing focus when it’s idle, mouse UI mode only turns on after you actually move the mouse (keyboard navigation flips it back). Finally, I fixed a Daily Rewards panel overflow issue so the last tier stays inside the frame, and cleaned up the shop hint text a bit.

In 0.9.13 I added a new mode: the Daily Seed Challenge. It’s a once per day run where everyone plays the same UTC based seed, so the setup is identical for all players, and your attempt resets at 00:00 UTC.

From the title screen you hit D to open a Daily Overview that shows today’s modifiers, rewards, attempts left, and the countdown to reset. While you’re playing, the HUD tags the run as DAILY with the date + daily name, and when you finish you get a results screen with your tier, score breakdown, rewards, and the reset timer.
